OVERVIEW
The Battle of the Hospital Chefs, held
in conjunction with the Consorta Source Conference &
Exhibition 2007, will pit hospital chefs against one another
as they have one hour to prepare a healthy menu consisting
of a protein, a starch, a vegetable and a beverage. Dishes
will be judged originality & creativity, taste, nutritional
balance, quality plate presentation, ease of production,
cost effectiveness, appropriateness for a hospital setting.
From all entries received, preliminary
judges will select the finalists, who, along with one other
staff member to serve as a Sous chef, will receive an
all-expense paid trip to Chicago to compete for the top
prize. Celebrity judges will select the winner, who will
receive a specially designed trophy, as well as national,
local and regional recognition for their recipe(s) and their
hospital.
